This place only has milk and yoghurt but its pretty good. Therefore we mainly visited here for the aesthetics of the place and the photos :)

I mean if you wanna go to a nice place and take photos, this is the place. Not for food though.

LEGIT this place was so good. I loved it. The gym junkie smoothies were so gooooodd. You can even get them with protein so those gymmers out there come here. BUT all the gym junkie smoothies had bananas so if you don't like bananas, who are you? The smoothie I got had dates, granola, berries you know all the normal healthy stuff. As for food, I ordered the ginormous breakfast platter in the photo below. It was ฿350 which was pretty good for what you got. The salmon was absolutely delicious on that platter, so soft and melty. Though the drink my friend ordered was a tumeric milk thing which was definitely an acquired taste but I mean it seemed and looked good for you. 



Then the second time we came, they didn't fail to disappoint. All the drinks and the breakfast platters were sooo good, poached egg was perfectly poached and avocados were perfectly ripe. No doubt I will come again and maybe get a protein smoothie for after my workout.


Though the food did take a little while to come, I really didn't mind because we were sitting on plush sofas, we had our drinks and tbh all the food was worth the wait. Though it isn't too cheap (drinks at about ฿130), I think it's so worth it, so definitely make your way here for brunch.

Michelle actually found this cafe being all chemistry and all. But the only 'chemistry' in the cafe was the way the drinks were served. The normal coffee like lattes, as long as they were cold, were served in beakers and the fancy shmancy drinks like Cha Nom Yen (Thai Milk Tea) or Matcha were served deconstructed in test tubes. For example for the Cha Nom Yen, two test tubes contained condensed milk, two had the tea, and one had sugar syrup so that you can customize your drink to your liking.


The food was like meh. The second time I went I ordered a carbonara and the sauce was kind of curdled though it tasted good. That was probably the only dish I had a problem with. Other than that the sausages and egg and the grilled chicken on rice with the onsen egg was absolutely delicious.

Overall I definitely recommend the drinks and try some food if you're up for it. (The cafe was really pretty too). There's also a clothes shop upstairs, evident because of the magazine style menu showcasing some of their looks (I really liked the corporate identity and the branding of the cafe, especially the logo and the menu).

This cafe has got to have one of the most beautiful interiors and exteriors, so whether you want to sit inside or outside, you are bound to get a nice photo. There is a nice gazebo sort of sitting area outside next to a small pond, a beautiful place to sit when the weather is nice. Enough about the architecture, lets talk about FOOOD!




I've been here twice and what can I say? Imma come again. They offer a variety of dishes but one of mine and my friends' favourites has got to be the shakshuka. I still don't really know how to explain what it is but its like a tomato bake with chorizo and an egg in the middle. They serve it with toasted buttery baguette for you to dip in. It's DELICIOUSS. The second time we came we ordered two pastas and a pizza and it was definitely worth the price. The dishes were different than what we usually see in restaurants. We ordered penne with oxtail ragout and the other was fettucine with a salmon avocado cream sauce. They were both so flavourful, as was the thin crust prosciutto pizza that we ordered.

My friends ordered drinks and I tried it but tbh they were an acquired taste. One was a sort of berry smoothie with yoghurt, banana and oatmeal but was much more oatmeally than was expected. The other a pineapple and chilli smoothie, I mean if you're into that kinda thing go for it (my friend really liked it! I just found the weird tingly spicy feeling at the end kind weird).

Overall definitely go for the food. It was so goooddd and the aesthetics of the place was super nice. Go take some photos!

Eating our way round the east coast.

Lets just say we were a little more than excited to begin our trip to New Jersey for a family wedding. Just from instagram, the various blogs I follow and the many episodes of No reservations and triple D, I was craving the incredible range of food, gargantuan portions and innovative new eateries in the states. As soon as the plane touched down on American soil I could feel the American summer heat that was surprisingly comparable to Asian weather. Whilst returning back from the wedding venue, we spotted an American diner by the motorway and decided to stop by. This was my first experience at a legit American diner with red sofa booths, antique hanging lights and the expected ginormous portions. They even had a rotating fridge with their own homemade cakes and windows filled with American favorites such as pies, tarts, cakes and cookies. We tried the philly cheesesteak, fish and chips and a crab cake salad. Luckily we were sufficiently hungry to finish the majority of what we had ordered! A meal at an American diner is an experience in and of itself. Maybe not so special for locals, but definitely an attraction for tourists like ourselves.

For the bride's bachelorette party we decided to surprise her with a lunch at Isola Trattoria in Soho. This glasshouse is astounding with natural light streaming through every glass window and lusciously decorated interiors with glass vases hanging from the ceiling and greenery reinforcing the natural decor throughout. We ordered the truffle flat bread, Cacio E Pepe (Pasta with Pecorino romano, fresh egg yolk and grana padano cheese - a high class take on the traditional carbonara),  chicken cutlet with shaved beets and vegetable medley and fish tacos.  The pasta was fresh, no doubt, and incredibly textured but delicate. The chicken was extremely tasty yet light with a subtle olive oil vinagrette dressing the dish. We were most looking forward to the truffle flatbread, one of my favourite flavors. It even had fresh shaved truffles on top which made the dish even more luxurious.

Wanted to check out this place after seeing it on the magazine onboard a thai airways flight jetting off to somewhere. The thai's have suddenly jumped on the bandwagon of "healthy" eating and many of the dishes at Theera are gluten free, egg free and wheat free. They usually have a pop up store at one of the many Bangkok Farmers Markets so be sure to look out for them if you are every meandering the stalls at the markets. I decided to give it a try to see what they had to offer.

I'm back in the homeland #thailandhomeland for my easter break/songkran holiday - the water festival in Thailand. The minute I stepped out of the airport I could feel the familiar heat and humidity that I was so used to during the 12 years I lived here. After following many Bangkok based blogs I had found a host of cafes and restaurants to visit in my very short 4 weeks there. One of the ones that came up on my list was blackbox and since I was in the area I decided to drop by for their recommended brunch. It is only located a few blocks down from the existing cafe bicycle which has now closed down.
